CLS63 (6.3L) as Used Vehicle?

I've sort of been following the market for used CLS63s, and it looks like quite a few are coming on the market these days. Thinking about taking the plunge into one, but would like to hear actual owners' thoughts on what's good or bad about them, and what I should check out before buying. Also, is some type of extended warranty mandatory for one of these? TIA.

Hey emoved,
I've had wonderful luck w/ mine. It's been nothing but a dream. Weird little problems tho but nothing crazy. 3 little LEDs in the tail light are out, the back left door handle buttons no longer work and apparently I've got a slightly leaky injector (doesn't affect performance, will be fixed when I'm back in town). I get right around 16mpg, it's a thrill to drive and as comfortable as a tour bus. Turns heads like you wouldn't believe.
I highly recommend one.

I got my 2007 CLS 63 with 59k, and it runs great. It's not mandatory to get an extended warranty, but get it if it makes you sleep better. Otherwise, they're pretty reliable cars, and the M156 is a great engine. If you see one for sale in your area, I highly recommend test driving it to see how you like it!

Bought my 07 with 39k miles. Everything works great. The previous owner had Carchex.com perform a detailed inspection and road test. The info was helpful in making the purchase. Good luck.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Run the vin# to see if the M156 has the new headbolts before plunging into one, esp if you plan on keeping it past warranty.

bought my 07' 63 with 16k miles, and no problems whatsoever. The only very minor problems I have is the passenger door pannel is slightly loose, so whene you're playing music with base, you can hear some rattle, definitely an easy fix. Also, the headliner is drooping in the rear, once again, easy fix. Mostly just the small things, no major problems.

Just make sure you find a good place to get your car serviced...My dealer was just ___________________.....

Otherwise, if you're into buying them, go right ahead, you will smile everyday you get into it.
