New wheels offset question...

Hey guys,

Our OEM offset is 8.5"/25mm and 9.5"/28mm, I've been looking into some new wheels that are 9.5"/57mm and 11"/60mm, To calculate the offset difference I've been using this http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp...

If for example I enter our OEM wheel width/offset versus the new wheel width/offset, I get a result that I have to RETRACT 13mm, does that make sense?

In any case would I be able to fit those new wheels with those offsets to a CLS 55?

Only MBs - the best or nothing
Not a chance. Its like fitting (or trying to) a 7 size shoe onto a 10 size foot.

You would need at least 30mm front and rear spacers.

The seller actually advised something like 25mm35/mm, are those too big a spacers to put into our cars?

Using 30mm spacers like H&R's DRA spacers is not a problem - they can be used at the rear with no issues. The problem is the front. No one I know makes such a large spacer that fits extra toll front hub of CLS.

Damn!, I bought 15mm H&R spacers, and they specified they were ONLY to be used in the rear...

Per a mercedes specific wheel site, Mandrus, the fitment guide offset for a 20x9 front is 22 and 20x11 rear is 32. No mention of spacers. Source quoted below:

http://www.mandruswheels.com/fitment...63+W219+-+Rear

I've also PMed Vic for his help in this. I find it kind of strange that a seemingly black or white answer could spark such debate.

Dude, why are you trying to force wheels on the car that don't fit. There are so many wheels out there to be had that fit properly without spacers.

This is the wheel?
A mesh style wheel design that is older than you and me combined? They are everywhere. A jillion companies make this.
But it's your coin and if you want to go through a lot of trouble to fit wheels that don't fit, more power to you.

We can offer you a new set of BRABUS Mono F's that will fit your CLS perfectly or we are running a special on some AG Forged F310 wheels that look very similar. Please let us know if you would like a price.
