CLS55 front LED DRL's instead of front Fogs

Sorry guys. I've been working on a new project in the mod-dungeon (a 4ft LED window spoiler brake light). I got my DRL kit from ebay. Just consult the oracle (aka Google) and type (philips daylight 8) into the search bar and have-at-it. Also, to answer the other question, you will need to tap into the engine compartment fuse box's main power wire to connect the 12v lead. It is secured by a 10mm nut (if memory serves). No need to remove it completely, just enough for the 12v lead to slide underneath. You will also need to make a small notch in the fuse box container to route the cable through. It can easily be waterproofed with silicon adhesive or other such material..........hope this helps.

Launchstation,
I bought the drl's and just wondering how to connect the third (orange wire)
It is supposed to go to the headlamp. The connector has 5 wires. Any one know
which wire is the headlamp?
Thanks!

If the wire you're attempting to connect is the DRL dimming wire, then tap into the front side-marker (+) wire on the vehicle. When the park lights come on, the voltage from the side-marker light will send the signal to the DRL's to automatically dim.

4ft Led Third Brake Light Tap In?
Thank you for sharing your mods - they look great!!!
You have inspired me to add a 4ft third brake light to my roof spoiler as well.
My question is where did you tap in the 12v line from the 4ft led lights?
Thank you again for sharing.

You will HAVE to run a wire all the way to the front of the vehicle and tap into the master brake light switch (at the brake pedal). A basic multimeter will assist you in finding the correct wire to tap to supply +12v voltage to the light array when the brake is applied. (I think it's a 4-wire connector). Believe me, I tried easier methods. I tried to tap the tail light module wire, Left and Right (no success). Also tried the interior rear deck third brake light wire (tripped a fault in the CANBUS system). You can ground anywhere on the frame of the vehicle. I'm grounded in the trunk, near the rear Signal Acquisition Module (SAM). It's a long and tedious process to route the wire through the rear firewall and down the plastic CANBUS cable channel (driver side) to the brake pedal, but trust me, it's worth it. Instant head turner. I get people with new CLS550's asking me if it came with the car. The MB dealer that I take it to for services thought it was OEM as well.
