Lack of power - Feedback please.
Guys,
Today I ran against a friend who owns a car with about 30hp more than mine, I have a 2006 CLS55 with 42k miles.
We did two runs, rolling at 37mph on 2nd gear, my car was on manual, S and sport susp 2.
His car pulled like a rocket, mine felt as if it was gasping for air, the engine sounded normal, but my car felt slow next to his, like REALLY slow.
After that, I asked him to run my car (he is a real piston head, and knows several 55 AMG's), he told the same, that my car was easily 100hp below normal.
He did a test, ran it hard on 1st and he didn't get that rough AMG rear end feeling from the car and that he feels the torque wasn't as violent as on previous 55 AMG he has driven.
I have to admit, my car felt tame, like Garfield, not fierce like most people describe the 55 AMG's, I've never driven another AMG therefore my knowledge is very limited, but I drove a camaro 2ss 2012 last week and even though that car has less power than mine, it felt more muscular and it pulled harder.
My friend suggested a Dyno run to test the current power output and checking the catalytic converters, or something restraining my air either on its way in or out.
Anybody here with experience who can give me their 2c?, much appreciated guys.

I googled this, and it seems to be my problem, my car pulled a little and then mid-run it just went numb.
It does says here http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w211...ease-help.html that there are several pumps I can replace, any recommendation as to which pumps I should replace?, or just the IC pump?

Just search around and you will see that the new Bosch pump is the most reliable. On top of that, its a plug and play installation. No need to make up new brackets or splice in the wiring. That's what I replaced my intercooler pump with on my CL65.

If you are into more power, then you may want to add a larger front heat exchanger and maybe go up to the high flow Meziere W136 pump. Then with a couple bolt on`s, you can blow past your friend and say you fixed the pump..
