Viper Smart start system installed

Recently had this system installed. Works well with my iphone. The panic button on the remote can also start the car. Cars location can be viewed on the phone using the map and GPS.

Made a quick video to demonstrate.

Thanks Kevin. System is nice. Plug and play. No splicing of wires etc. There is a delay with the app, but the panic button on the key works very quickly. The app and the ability to have control using the satilite comes in handy in lots of situations. Like making sure your car is locked when out of range, or starting your car at a movie while the credits go up on a cold day. The GPS feature is amazing!!!!
You can change the setting to alert you if the car goes beyond a set speed limit, and notify you if your car has been moved. So if you are getting work done at a shop and your tech takes the car home for the weekend, you will know

I have this in my car too and love it... especially this morning since it was freezing outside! Did you set up the auxiliary outputs to control anything? BTW, digging what you did with the bumper. Nothing wrong with the old one but wow, that new one with the vertical LEDs really pops!

Here you go Kevin. Here is a list of all MB expressStart modules. I added Viper smart start to my ExpressStart. The viper GPS smart start module that I added is optional, and you do not need it to remote start the car. The panic button in the remote can be used. I also learned today that an additional bluetooth module can be added, which speeds up the response of the phone app at a closer range. When out of Bluetooth range, it switches over to cellular / GPS.

Part # for your CLS is MB211D

Thanks Rudy! I love the new front end! I noticed another input on the expressStart module. I think that is where the Bluetooth module connects ? Not sure.

Just realized that my local shop does Viper work. Definitely will be checking in with them to see how much they'll charge for this install. This is sick.

That price is not bad Kevin. Most shops will charge around $1,000 installed! I can pm you some info in installation , and I know you are no stranger to wrenching
The ignition wiring is a pain to get to. My wife could hear my verbal expressions in the house while I did this in my garage. My hands are too big to get to these wires. That was my biggest problem.

No issues so far. Works great. A few things to remember:

Will not start if the hood is open
Only lets you remote start 5 times between normal start with key/keyless go.
Only lets car run for 15 min, then it will shut down car.

Hazard lights will flash a number of times to warn about those .

Adding viper smart start is an additional $250, with a monthly fee that will cost approx $6-7 a month.

So far my favorite thing about this system is knowing where the car is, and knowing if its parked, moving, and how fast it's traveling. You can see it moving on the map. The system will even give you directions to your car. If you are worried about starting it or unlocking it by mistake, the system has a Status option. Lets you know if its locked, unlocked , running, etc!

Definitely a useful mod. I remember when I got my first compustar installed on my Maxima; its amazing how much technology has advanced since then. I'll be honest I was more interested in seeing your whip in the video than the Viper system haha...that new front looks so mean
