Getting frustrated.....
So the winter season here in Ohio is just about over so I figured it was time to start preparing my car for the rest of my visual mods for the spring/summer. The first thing I decided to do was to remove the rust off of my rotors, especially being that I just purchased an "open-like" wheel which shows the brakes pretty well. I used a wire brush to knock off all the rust and the results were great (see 1st pic). However, now after washing my car a few times, I'm getting this VERY annoying orange-like color
(see 2nd pic). I know, I know, impossible to stop the rotors from rusting over time but this color that I am now getting never happened before? Had the car for almost two years now. Any help on what or why this is happening? And how to prevent it? The rotors are still pretty thick so they dont need replaced...I refuse to put my new wheels on (3rd pic) with this annoying dis-coloring lol...heeelppp....

Where you get that grille from? I have been looking for that closed MB symbol kind forever!
Also,
Newer rotors have this coating to prevent from rusting. I just changed my rotors and they are newer OEM replacements, they have yet to rust!

Uhm I actually got it off eBay about a year & a half ago..I'll see if the buyer still sells them or if another seller has them. If so, I'll get you the link..As for the rotors, yea I heard about the new ones & that'll be great when it comes time to buy some I just don't think that's my issue just yet.

I think you should paint your rotor hubs with a high temperature paint. I purchased Trem-Clad high-temp matte black paint and used a brush to apply the paint to all four rotor hubs. Took me about 4 hours to do all 4 hubs but it is worth it especially when you are running a wheel design that shows a lot of the brakes. 1 year later and the hubs still look nice and black, no rust, no chipping, no fading, nothing.

Remove the rust the same you did before. Clean residue with alcohol. Apply high temperature coat (clear or colored). Thde color is a reaction caused by disimilar metals (rotor and brush) with moisture in the air acting as a catalyst. Ensure you rmove all residue before coating.
