Trouble bleeding intercooler

Hi guys,
I've searched this for a couple days and finally replaced my Bosch pump with the Johnson CM30. After the install I located the two coolant lines for the SC and I saw that only one line has the bleeder nipple. With the car off, I removed the rubber cap (shot coolant across my garage) hooked up a hose and fed the other end into the coolant reservoir. My car was at normal operating temp since I had just returned home from driving for a little over an hour ( it should be noted that it's about 38 degrees F). I started the car and nothing flowed through the tube. I then squeezed the rubber portions of the SC lines and some fluid moved into the clear bleeder tube. After enough manual pumping I was able to fill the tubing and push some coolant into the tank, but there didn't seem to be any pump action. Is this due to the temp not being warm enough to activate the pump or is it a shot pump? I spliced into the original wiring (which I noticed was totally frayed just before the original connector). I don't have any electrical codes so, I'm assuming the connection is good. I figured that checking the connector with a meter would be fruitless if the problem is that it's not activating due to the temp. If anyone knows how I should proceed I would greatly appreciate any advice. Incidentally, I have been taking pretty solid runs without the SC cutting out as far as I can notice. I also have the Eurocharged tune in case that makes any difference. Thanks again.

I'm fairly certain that this is a shared system with the engine and doesn't require bleeding air at this point, but if anyone can verify this I would greatly appreciate the input. Thanks again.

Yes, it is a shared system, and your rubber cap is the highest point so if you get fluid instead of air you're probably good. You should be able to hear your pump run 10 or 15 seconds after you shut the car off. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I don't hear the pump doing anything after shut off. Should the pump be running all the time? If so, I could check if the connector is getting 12 volts to verify my wiring. Anyway to check with certainty if the pump is running when it's supposed to? Incidentally, how loud should the pump be after shut off (meaning, I should definitely hear it)?

I think the pump runs when the engine is on regardless of temperature. It's not loud but you should definitely hear it. You should have time to get out, walk up to it and listen to it run for a few seconds then shut off. Check the fuse and relay too.

Thank you. I'll search for where the fuse/relay is. Any help there is appreciated, but I'll definitely do the search.

ok, I found the relay https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...ng-diagram.gif
Does anybody know if there is an additional fuse that is associated with the pump? Would like to confirm these are fine since I can't say that I'm hearing the pump when I turn the car off. Thanks again for the replies, they've been helpful.

After taking a second look at that chart, I'm assuming I would know if the relay was bad since it shares with the fuel pump. I'm also assuming that if a fuse was bad it would trip a warning light. Is it possible that the pump doesn't need to kick on since it's been in the 30's outside and the IAT not getting hot enough to kick on the pump? I have tried to drive it pretty hard and listen for the pump after shut off without success. At this point I'm really just trying to make sure that the instal and pump itself is good. Anybody notice the pump running after turning the car off in cold weather? The thing that still bugs me is that there wasn't any aggressive flow out of the bleeder through the clear tubing. It was more of a trickle. Thanks again for any help. Also, on a side note, I bought the ECU tune from Eurocharged a few weeks ago and so far it's been pretty awesome. Hoping to take the car to the drag strip for the first time since I've owned it this summer (another reason I want to make sure my IC pump is sorted out).
