I have 126k mi. on my W211 and 151k mi. on the W210 and run recommended oil (Mobil 1 0w-40 or Motul 5w-40) It burns anywhere from .5-1 quart of oil in between oil change intervals of 7k miles. It's completely normal to burn a little bit of oil. No lifter tick either. I think you should stick to whatever is recommended as your mileage doesn't really make a difference. Most people on here will tell you to use Mobil 1 0w-40 or 5w-40 formula M (not ESP formula)

I have always used mobil 1 0w-40 synthetic but wasnt sure since I hit the 100k mark i should change it up. I will probably use mobil 1 5w-40 this time. Any thoughts?

either one will be fine. 100k is nothing for these engines!

Thanks for the input. I went with mobil 1 0w-40. I also did my trans service and had a hard time finding the right fluid. I ended up getting pentosin atf1.
