I want to lower my car and some say that it effects the drive in a good way (better handling). How much should I do it to give a positive effect?

Back in 2009, I had my AMG lowered with STAR Diagnostics in Peoria AZ. I invested $300 + with wheel alignment. I told the service tech that I wanted my car as low as possible but maintaining factory alignment specs. I have no ride or performance issues. I highly recommend this lowering procedure.
