Shifter paddles -mod or BS-clk wheel? Some questions.

Went thru like a dozen topics but the fine details elude me...

CLS55 -05 and i live in Finland.

Questions:

One:
Is there a plug-and-play shifter-paddles to replace the buttons. No dremeling etc.
I can pull the wheel apart, install and put it back together but i dont wanna dremel the thing.

Two:
Black-series CLK steering-wheel. Will it fit just like that? Buttons seem the same. Also how much does one cost and do they come in any color?
I have the rather rare sand-colored interior and ive never seen a BS have that. Genuine wheel or a good replica, dont care.

* drooling *

Looks frigging sweet but the pricetag is quite high too. Are there any cheaper options? Replicas, etc?

I've got the performance pack wheel from a 63 in mine, the one with alcantara side grips, comes with the aluminium paddles and bolts straight on. Available on ebay for a fraction of that BS one.

Hi Peelo,

there is NO paddle that fits in your existing wheel (without cutting). There are some easy plug and play options, however.

DCT motorsports offers a lot of very nice upgrade choices for this application
http://dctms.com/product_ST_Mercedes_W209.html

OR ...

closer to you,
this Ebay seller offers brand new Mercedes wheels with AMG paddles installed starting under $600. (check out this sellers ebay store for more color/material choices in OEM mercedes wheels)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Benz-SL55-R230-CLS55-CLK55-W209-E-Class-E55-W211-AMG-Steering-Wheel-NEW-/260945211620?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc18bf0e4&vxp=mtr
PADDLE COMPATIBILITY IN YOUR CAR
My understanding is that your CLS came with the same shift buttons as a 2007 SL55 ... AND THEREFORE IS plug compatible with the aluminum AMG paddles (ie, does NOT require the paddle converter module).

If you want to verify this for certain, you can lightly pry out one of your switches and read the part number. If it reads 870273-0004 or 870273-0005 you are ALREADY plug compatible with the new AMG paddles. If it reads 870273-0000 or 870273-0001, then your car needs the paddle converter module.

If you have other questions, feel free to send me a PM.
Cheers,
Chris

Nope, it's the same style as the one latemodel has linked to above but with alcantara side panels instead of leather. Got it from the same place as his link but note that he hasn't got any black all leather wheels anymore, only the wierd shades like the palm grey linked to and various beiges, the performance pack one is the only black one he has.

The switches are part of the airbag so you just swap your existing one straight into the replacement rim.
