Adding transmission fluid

2006 CLS55 with 722.6 transmission. Can u install transmission fluid thru the dipstick check tube next to the firewall or must it be pumped thru the drain plug hole in the transmission pan?

Seems like a dumb question, but all i have seen from MB indicates fluid being pumped from below.

You can install it through the tube back by the firewall on the passenger side but its complicated. You need the dipstick and the level gets checked cold and hot.
