Looking at a CLS63. Thoughts?
I'm eyeballing a 2007 CLS63. Has about 50,000 miles on it. It's at a private dealership that is over 1hour away so I haven't actually touched the car yet.
My glaring concern is that the guy at the dealership told me "the engine has been replaced"
I asked why and he wasn't sure as the owner is still driving the car around. He told me he will find out for me.
I guess my question is what are the common issues or pit falls (from your experience) that we run into with these cars??
They are asking $34,000 for the car.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated!
THANKS! just for the reply alone.
I took a day or two and had the same thought as you. I am now looking at another '07 CLS63 and a mucher better to deal with dealer (so far anyway)
thanks again. Im hoping to join the ranks soon!
Good luck
It's black and has 56,000 miles on it. I ended up finding this one in a different place then the last one.
I love it. Anyone with any input or common maintenance items would be greatly appreciated

Congrats on your new ride. Ive have my 09 for 18 months now. Cars been very good to me... Had a small issue last month with an air susp valve. Almost $800 wing the part and labor at MB. My warranty covered it minus my $100 deduct.

I have a 09 CLS63 just hit 60K got it about 36K miles on her. Not much, serpentine belt, pulley, thermostat. I am getting the wheels refinished, due to getting a hole in one of the rims, might as well...
I got the wheels cleaned up and painted matted black. Also rubber dipped the car matte black (love it or hate it)
I'm hoping to do an Ecu tune, but right now I am focused on something that will bring me Bluetooth connectivity any suggestions???
Trust me, you will love every ride in this car.
I'm not a fan of the plasti-dip but it's a personal preference at the end of the day.
As a regular maintenance, I suggest you get an OBD2 scanner with "Carly for Mercedes" app and it will scan 41 modules in your car (unlike any other app). its cheap and gives you a sight for any potential problem that may occur but at early stage.
If you purchased an extended warranty, think twice before doing any tune as it may void your warranty.
Try to fill only gas 93 AKI or 98 RON whenever you can as it's specified for the M156 engine.
Keep an eye/ear for any tapping noise as it may develop the famous head bolt issue with the M156.
Other than that, just hit the throttle and enjoy the 507HP.

What I meant though was a way to Bluetooth my phone (phone calls and music) to the factory head unit. Anyone have any after market Bluetooth connectivity stuff?
I have been looking at the mobridge, but don't really know much about it other then what I read on the sites that are actually trying to sell it.
def need more pics

I was wondering today how dip would hold up in the hot hot heat versus the wrap method
