Gutted Stock Muffler

Just wanted to share for anyone who's interested...
I cut open and removed all sound deadening material from the stock mufflers and welded them back together this evening.
After reading a ton and watching videos on the w211 e55 forum I decided it would be worth trying on the cls. The results are not what I was expecting but the good news is it came out quieter than I wanted as opposed to too loud which would be a bigger issue.
Our internal muffler design is not like the e55 at all so removing the material didnt get me much. During my first drive I was convinced it sounded no different than stock. When I took it home my dad and I did some swapping back and forth revving the engine and from what we can tell its only slightly louder and burblyer than stock. While in the car with the windows down driving you cant hear any difference.
So... from what I can gather this is about equivalent to removing the center resonator in terms of noise.

I hope this helps and I'll get a video up tomorrow when I can do it without pissing off the neighbors.
