FS: Stock CLS55 AMG Black/Black Clean, serviced

I have enjoyed my CLS55 for a few years now and need to get into something else new. Mine's unmolested -- all stock with very new Continental DWS All Seasons. Fresh brake fluid flush and rear differential service. 50,420 miles. I am the second owner and the interior is clean as well. Oil changes every 5k miles.

I am located just outside Chicago -- SW Suburb.

Asking $26k

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the feedback "Fly By Night"

I appreciate your words but I would hope we're talking more about an open market approach to what these beautiful, rugged cars are worth. I can't buy at wholesale or auction prices nor can most of us. I am looking at local (Chicagoland) pricing and cars with more miles are fetching $28-$30k.

Right now I'm in negotiations with two dealerships who sell Audis and there's a chance I may get $20k-$25K outright. I just thought I'd start here and see what people were willing to pay.

I would really like to keep it because of all I learn here about longevity with these cars, plus it looks so damn cool! But I just don't have the room for a 4th car.

BTW, is that a RUSH reference FBN? lol

yes sorry. i should have been more clear in the reply. i agree your price of 24-26k is fair for sure on retail end. i was making a point that dealers are still paying pretty high for nice 55's. (18-20k)
RUSH... yep

Your price is great and here is why: BLK/BLK, 50K miles, 2-owner, fresh tires, service history... Asking $26K to close at $24-$25K wont be too hard to do. List it in the usual sites with a good description and photos and any car enthusiast will value the length of ownership and service history.

I traded my cls55 (74K/designo/030/service history) because timing was an issue and the car I wanted took a while to find. $20K plus $1,250 in tax savings was what I got.

The dealer listed it for $25K and it lasted one day. I left my business card with the service records and I chatted with the new owner for about an hour on what was done to it and what needed to be done.

In this niche market, everyone appreciates service records. Sometimes the most expensive ones are the cheapest ones to own.

Good luck.

I just purchased mine (06 CLS55) last fall for $22,500 but that was due to known issues with the power steering rack and leaking valve cover gasket. Before the inspection that revealed these issues we were at 25,000. Mine is Black on Black with Carbon Fiber interior kit which was a huge selling point for me as I am not a fan of the wood with this color combo. Also had Vossen wheels (no stock wheels, which was a CON for me), and professionally painted red calipers. Had 62k miles at the point of purchase. I think your asking price is great, in fact if you aren't in a rush to sell you could find the right buyer for 26k if you start with a bit higher price.

I think he was just sharing to give you an idea of what our cars sell for...although his is a much newer model with much higher mileage and different powertrain so I'm not sure it's a very good comparison.

I did a double take - almost to make sure my version of this beautiful car was still in my garage! I bought mine in Westmont, IL in mid-January for $27,681 at Ultimo Motors on Ogden Ave. 43,000 miles on the odo.

We're almost at the same point mileagewise.

Thanks for the post!

Just an FYI: "Continental DWS All Seasons" - I have those same tires on my CLS and they wear like iron and are whisper quiet. So that's another item in the PRO column of why you should buy this car.

Thanks to everyone here for our help.

I ended up trading mine in for a 2007 Corvette Z06 with 26k miles. I got $20k on the trade and they came down a little on the vette so the difference was decent. Good bye all.
