Anybody using Links to lower?
#2
I had my local specialist fit my kit I purchased and it was nothing but issues from the start. Using the indicated 6mm stated for a 50mm drop the back of my car dropped significantly. Further adjustment tried to correct it but didn't and in the end broke my height sensor which was £130 to replace. My car is now back to stock.
You may have better luck though.

Lowered my 2011 CLS63
I bought the Airmatic lowering links ($199) to lower mine. The build quality looked better than some of the other options, and they shipped pretty quick (comes from the UK)
I installed my own, using a floor jack and stands. The front was pretty easy, after taking off the wheels, but the back was a pain, due to the tight clearance over the rear axle. You have to be able to thread nuts on to bolts without being able to see them, if you do it this way I'm sure if you have access to a lift, it would be a lot easier.
I tried to set the links to give me about a 25mm drop. I don't like the rice-racer look where the wheels are canted in at the top, and this seemed to do the trick.
I don't see how dropping the car would screw with the toe-in, but it can certainly mess up the camber settings. I didn't get my car aligned after installing the links, because I'm going to put on new tires in a month, and will just do it then. In the interim, the car drives just like it did before - but it looks better !
