Head removal on CLS63 M156 engine – FYI/DYI
Then I moved on to the passenger side. When I opened the valve covers I wasn't able to insert back locking plate on the cams. Didn't know how my timing could be off from the factory. It was off by maybe 1mm and the plate wouldn't slide in. I turned the engine 360 degrees twice and stopped at 40 degree mark again. This time I was able to lock the cams, replaced bolts and set the timing. Put the engine together and started. No ticking or banging, but the engine is shaking at idle pretty badly and the check engine is flashing
I will have to re-do timing with two sets of tools. Any ideas what I did wrong in the process?
