Transmission going into neutral? CLS 55
On a cold start my CLS 55 shifts fine for about half mile then goes into neutral.
Ill stop the car shut off engine and start the car again. will shift normally then go into neutral again.
What caused this? Conductor plate? solenoid? Has check engine light on for p0730 and p0507
any help in greatly appreciated.

How many miles on the car ? when was the last time you did trans service ?
My E55 shift to neutral, restart the car and back to normal. After refill 1 qt trans fluid problem fixed. Check the level.

Time to check and most probably change the conductor plate. Its a known problem, along with a leaking 13 pin trans plug. Boatloads of threads on this issue and youtube videos on replacement. You want them addressed or trust me it will ruin your day by going into limp mode. Limp mode is characterized by banging shifts from park to any drive gear forward or backward, trans won’t shift out of second. The codes will be stored in the tcm and ecm which means you’ll need a high end scanner or Star system to clear it. And until you do it will stay in limp mode even though you change the plate and plug. Don’t go cheap go OEM on those parts as this job you don’t want to have to again for a long time.
