Harness for bixenon headlight-part number?
Apologies if this is already covered elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find anything. My 2006 CLS500 has the bixenon headlights from factory. Someone hit the front RH corner of my car while it was parked at my office. They were good enough to come in and admit to what they did. When I went out to the car with them to inspect the damage, I noted that my RH parking lamp didn't light and I had a failure on my information center. After taking the car in for an estimate, the MB shop told me that the wiring inside my light was burned up and shorting and this was not a result of the accident. I completely get that it wasn't a result of the hit, but the lights all worked fine before the incident. The shop told me that I need a new headlight as there is no harness made to replace it; they quoted me $2K for the new light. Obviously the insurance doesn't want to pay this and without a harness available I am faced with forking over this money. I argued that the lights were all functioning the week before as I just had the car services and nothing was noted about a burned out bulb.
I am now interested in making my own harnesses to replace both. Is this something that anyone on here has done on this model and if so can you shed any light on process, including wire gauge and color to use. When they have the bumper off to do the repair, I can ask that the remove the headlights for me to make and install these.
Alternatively, if anyone is aware of a new harness that is a simple plug and play that would be best.
