2011 CLS 550
Question w219 or w218?

Ok guys, I have a dumb question. I've only had my CLS for a year and it's my first benz. I'm confused because I have a 2011 550. My body style looks like a w219 but my year is listed under w218 second gen body style... I was looking to buy the plug and play projector door lights. I did'nt want the wireless or the kind you drill the hole for. But they say they don't fit the CLS w219... Only the CLS w218 2010-2015, and my car is a 2011 but looks like a w219.... Totally lost... Help anybody???

Yeah, logically I said the same thing. But if you google the 2011 CLS or most sites says 2010 up is the W218 or C218, and thats weird because I know they didn't make both body styles at the same time for 2 years 2010-2011... I just don't want to order the wrong things going by the year, because I don't know which style they'll be referring to... I hear you though!!! lol

I have a 2005 cls55 even though theyre only meant to be available in 2006. I have a 2006 range rover that was actually built at factory 2004. Depending on registration laws etc in your country this can be common. Im confident if you have w219 shape the part wont fit. You could try getting your vin and looming it up

Yeah I agree. I know sometimes the years can differ like, a 2006 cls part might not fit a 2011 even if they are both w219's... I was looking to by the plug and play door projector lights that snap in to your existing bottom light. I don't like the wireless set and the other style you have to drill a hole in your door. I'd rather have the plug and play. Most of the sites says available for cls 2010-2015 (but don't fit w219)....
