AMG Badge
I hate to be the one accused of faking of having a AMG but I was unaware of what an actual AMG was before I bought my Benz. I've done the research on the 55 and the 63 vs the 550 and now know the difference. When I bought my 550, they told me it had the AMG sport package which included the body kit, AMG wheels and tail pipe tips. So when I seen the 550 and the AMG badge, I thought back then that's what it was, an AMG sport package, but now I feel like I'm faking. I'm thinking of having a body shop removing the AMG badge... The funny thing is, I see allot of 550's with that badge, but now I feel funny about having it on there... What you guys think?

There may be some shadow left over if it's been on there a while.......you know from the elements. It might stick out more on a white car

I removed several emblems before with no issue. Lightly heat with heat gun, get fishing cord behind the emblem then "saw" it off. Use a DA polisher and polish the area. You should be fine if your car is not in horrible condition.

MB calls it an "AMG appearance package" which includes the bumpers an wheels from a AMG. But the wheels are different from the the 55/63 's
AMG cars of course have the upgraded powerplant and suspensions . Also when you buy parts and get insurance the car models are destinated as AMG. IE CLS55 AMG, CLS63 AMG, E55 AMG., S63 AMG.
Its really the true mercedes guys that will notice it.
For that matter. I have a E500 upgraded with all the E63 appearance body parts. I kept it true badging of E500 without any AMG badge.

Yeah, I wasn't aware at the time exactly what the AMG stood for. They told me it was the AMG sport package but it had the badge on it, along with amg exhaust tips, amg floor mats, and the 18" wheels along with the grill and body kit... I haven't taken it off yet, but I will. I don't want anybody thinking I WAS FAKING... lol

The number of folks who can differentiate Mercedes models: Small
The number of folks who actually know what AMG is: Tiny
The number of folks who would even be able to tell which models did and did not get an AMG badge: Miniscule
The folks who think they know what they're talking about but don't because they think YOU put the AMG emblem on your car: Idiot dorks. Don't change your car to protect their feelings.
It's a cool car. Keep it how you like it.
