Hey guys, my cls 55 is in need of a front right strut, however the unit that contains that and the airmatic is all one piece. Estimated price for the front right is 1600. Thinking i could go coilovers and be done with the worrys for the same price. Any recommendations in NJ?

Um you can get the strut for 400-500 and it should take 1hr to install by a competent mechanics..

I'd go arnott remanufactured or blisteins if I were you.


Pretty easy to diy in the driveway with a jack stand, a socket set and a torx set. Let me know if you want step by step instructions..

Ok, thx so much. I have an appointment tomorrow with a place here. They specialize in aftermarket suspension. Looked at the Blisteins on tire rack. 1800,00. Thx again, i'll update when its done

Haha, yea no problem. Always shop for parts online with these cars as the shops love to make a profit off your nice looking car needing 'expensive parts' that arent really that expensive!

Keep in mind places do parts supplied labor, meaning you supply the parts they do the job and just charge you an hourly rate. If you have any more problems/questions post up in here and I'll help out best I can.
