Navigation stuck on same location/intermittent loud beep

Navigation stuck on same location/intermittent loud beep
Hi all,
Recently developed an issue with the navigation in my 2006 CLS55. Navigation is stuck in the same location (i.e., the arrow on the navigation that shows you where you are does not move when I drive around). At the same time, there also developed an intermittent loud, high-pitched beep, that cuts out the sound for about 3 second. When the beep occurs, which is about every 30 seconds, the navigation screen flashes “activating, please wait” for about a second, and then goes back to the map.
The SOS light is not on, and I’ve purchased a separate GPS antenna that I’ve plugged into the back of the nav unit in the trunk, which did not fix my issue.
Any thoughts? I don’t care so much for the navigation since I use my phone for that, I just want to do away with the loud beep as it is really annoying and constantly interrupts whatever I’m listening to.
