CLS55 AMG carbon fiber interior project
Hi fellas,
I decided to upgrade my CLS55 AMG interior with carbon fiber. Unfortunately since this W219 is already a bit old there are not many options available on the market.
I only know about 3 options: oCarbon, MEC design and Nick Wright (I guess he sells his stuff on eBay). I didn't speak with Nick Wright but I contacted MEC Design and oCarbon. It seems MEC Design is bigger company but since it's located in Germany (I'm located in US) I decided to go with oCarbon because shipping to and from oCarbon seems easier and their quote is lower. oCarbon owner is Matt and you may reach him via his website or directly via email.
How it works:
1) I need to find donor interior parts and send it to oCarbon.
2) Matt will refinish interior parts with carbon and send it back to me.
*** Important *** In W219 CLS there are 6 "wood" interior trim pieces. 4 front and 2 rear. Unfortunately, Matt will only refinish the front four pieces in carbon fiber while two rear louvres will be painted in black but it is what it is.
As I mentioned above there are 6 interior trim pieces in CLS. According to a random Mercedes-Benz online parts dealer all W219 vehicles including CLS550, CLS55 and CLS63 share the same interior trim pieces. Here they are as a reference.
1) Louver - rear. Part of the Body -> Rear Console. There are two colors:
219-860-00-75 - walnut.
219-810-03-20 - laurel.
Random MB parts dealer: https://www.mboriginalparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-louver-2198600075
2) Louver - front. Part of the Body -> Rear Console. There are two colors:
219-860-01-75 - walnut.
219-810-04-20 - laurel.
Random MB parts dealer: https://www.mboriginalparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-louver-2198600175
3) Trim Plate with parktronic. Also there is on without parktronic. Part of the Body -> Front Console. There are two colors:
219-680-00-36 - walnut.
219-680-10-36 - laurel.
Random MB parts dealer: https://www.mboriginalparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-trim-plate-2196800036
4) Cover. Part of the Body -> Instrument Panel. There are two colors:
219-810-00-11 - walnut.
219-810-02-11 - laurel.
Random MB parts dealer: https://www.mboriginalparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-cover-2198100011
5) Trim Cover. Part of the Body -> Instrument Panel. There are two colors:
219-680-09-39 - walnut.
219-680-10-39 - laurel.
Random MB parts dealer: https://www.mboriginalparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-trim-cover-2196800939
6) Trim Plate. Part of the Body -> Instrument Panel. There are two colors:
219-680-01-71 - walnut.
219-680-05-71 - laurel.
Random MB parts dealer: https://www.mboriginalparts.com/oem-parts/mercedes-benz-trim-plate-2196800171
I don't plan to purchase new parts since it's crazy expensive and I can't use my OEM parts as a donor ones because I drive my CLS pretty often. So my plan is to find all 6 trim pieces in used condition online and send it to oCarbon.
So my next step is to find all 6 trim pieces. Idk how long it may take but I hope to get it within a couple weeks. Stay tuned!
PS: Pic below is from MEC Design website but it shows what I want to get in the end:

That is sweet, I hope that you find all the pieces in due time. And that everything works as planned.

I'm having difficulties with finding the whole interior trim online. Local "part out" listings didn't help so far. I'll continue my search anyway. There are some individual trim parts on eBay and I hope it won't cost me more than $300 to get everything before I ship it to oCarbon...
