COLD WEATHER REAR SUSPENSION DIP

Rear suspension dip in cold weather.

Hi all, new to the forum need some advice.

cls 550 dips at night, and if it’s too cold it seems like it’s frozen and won’t kick back on and lift until the car is warm/weather outside has improved.

I’ve done some reading here before I took it in. Mechanic is now saying they need to replace level sensor, valve block, compressor. They all work when it warm so why would it be them.

I told the mechanic I’ve noticed this leak in the rear since I got the car in September, but never an issue lifting until now. Canadian winter lol.

read some posts just to replace bellows and that’s the fix.

can anybody speak to this matter lately...

If the rear drops you most likely have a leak in the rear. The lines and fittings rarely fails. Most likely it is the rear bellows. It's not a bad thing replacing the compressor and the safety relay, it's not very expensive.
Can you get the car inside? If so you can try to find the leaks by spraying water.
You should check for codes regarding the level sensor.

The mechanic called me back later that day and confirmed my suspicions of the bellows needing replacement. Just awaiting on them now. Should be good to go. Replacing the bellows was expensive enough for right now 🙂. I’ll see if the other two need replacement down the line. By the time hopefully I’ll be on to my amg. Thanks for responding I appreciate it.
