Gearbox disassembly completed. This also showed some other things like the friction material being gone almost completely. Also the steel rings (dont know the correct term) have hot spots, which isnt good off course

After almost 2 months, the CLS55 is back with a fully rebuild transmission. Culprit was the torque converter, so they replaced it with a new one. Also all lines and coolers have been flushed, valve body has been internally inspected and they incorporated the Sonnax parts which I provided.

Thought I would be very anxious on the way home, but seeing the shop and talking to the owner gave me a lot of trust and comfort. So when I stepped in the CLS after almost 2 months, I needed to get used to it again. Needless to say, this is a way different car to the VW Lupo that my girlfriend owns (1.4 16valve, 75bhp)

Took me about 10-15 mins of driving before I reminded myself, how does the car actually shift? In a nutshell, great! But off course, everything needs to settle a little bit and the adaptation is still running, so it will be even better in a short while. Picture was taken right before I headed home in the CLS.
