Finally (hand)washed it after a long time and took a picture in our driveway. What are your thoughts on the yellow tint film? I have to be honest that I was highly hesitant but in someway its growing on me...

Replaced the wiperblades from Valeo to Bosch Aerotwin. Build quality from Bosch is way higher, will always recommend them!

Been following your string since I picked up my CLS63.
You are a man of impeccable detail.
So I have to ask, what are your long term plans with this car?
Is it something you are going to keep or do you just buy/build/sell?
I picked mine up on a whim. Basically got bored with my 650i and offered it as a trade with some cash
Now that I have had my 63 for a few months, I realize what a gem it is.
Much more refined than my BMW
My daily driver is a Jeep Wrangler, but when I "feel the need for speed" the 63 does not disappoint!

Thanks man!

Long term plans, I want to keep it. My caveat is that I like to work on the car almost more than actually driving and enjoying it. But this time around, I am remembering myself to enjoy it more. I love the power, the looks, the interior, the smoothness of the engine, the way you just float on the road. This car is already special to me, there is no doubt about that. Cars are and will not be build like this anymore.

The CLS is a real neck breaker around here. It doesnt need a loud exhaust, the car has a lot of "natural" presence.

Replaced the 2 hoses for the SAI as they started to desintegrate when you start to look at them

Old vs new, strange white stuff in the hose?

Who knows what this bung is for? This also needs replacement, but I didnt know there was a bung there

New hose in place, needed quite some persuasion to get them on

The other side

Not a surprise after 188k kms and 17 years

Picking up the groceries on a hot summer day. I removed the 15mm spacers in the rear and still like the look

For some weird reason, the fancy cupholder was missing from my car. I bought it aftermarket, luckily the fitment is 100%. I love the design of this thing, how it folds out is nothing short of magic

Ok, mine is different.
I have that goofy 2 cup holder that is "supposed" to raise and lower with a button, but the PO spilled something down in it, rendering it pretty useless.
Another weekend task.....

Got the CLS aligned yesterday after replacing the front suspension parts. Needed minimal changes, which was a welcome suprise. The toe in was incorrect, which was to be expected. Camber etc werent all that bad to begin with. I followed his advice to not change anything on the rear end, looking at the values and how my rear tires were wearing (inner tyre wear). The rear toe is a bit off and will stay that way.

It was aligned with a running engine, so it got pretty hot under the car pretty fast

@Infiniti Ahhh, that was unclear to me

Item: https://aliexpress.com/item/33007643559.html

Getting the lighter out is a bit hard. The lighter and the small light are 2 separate things if you remember. The " light module" clips onto cigarette lighter itself. The hard part is to get the lighter out, as this needs quite some force. You will see the 2 clips if you look carefully. If I remember correctly, I used a flathead screwdriver for this. Once you get it out, you need to use a file and make the opening a little bit larger for it to accept the USB/Voltage meter

For wiring, I used the existing plug (only 2 wires needed from the 3 in the plug)

Andy,
That's 97 octane her in the states. I can get 100 octane unleaded as I used to put it in my RX-7, it cost substantially more than the high test 93 octane which is everywhere. I paid $4.25 for 93 octane yesterday.

Here you can see the clear difference

May I ask where you purchased those? Who makes them?
Thanks

@Fountain35 German company, I ordered them via Amazon.de :
Amazon Amazon
. But they should be available overseas as well

About fuel, I forgot that US uses a different rating than we use in EU (RON). Fuel prices in the Netherlands & Germany are about 2 euro per liter for RON95 E10 at the moment (about 7,3 USD per gallon)

Yes sir.
I love German cars.
My mother was born in Germany.
They cannot make a proper cupholder worth a ****.
I pulled mine out, cleaned it thoroughly
Still won't rise up to support a proper Starbucks Venti cup
I have a coffee issue.......

Before I installed the cup holder, I just put my drinking bottle in that hole. Problem solved
