Oil level sensor malfunction?

Looking to buy a CLS55/63
Oil level sensor malfunction?
Utilizing the proper procedure to check oil levels I keep just getting "_ _l " in the display. It never reads,ever...just the dashes..

Has anyone had their sensor go bad in this fashion? I would think it would give some check engine code🤷🏻‍♂️

99.9% of the C219 CLS is based on the W211 platform. The only real difference is sheet metal and some of the interior but much of the interior is the same too. Overall, mostly cosmetic differences. There were lots more W211 E55/63 made so there is much more trafffic and more eyeballs seeing your questions and comments.

2005 CLS55 AMG W219 C219
99.9% same sensor indeed, the W219 CLS is pretty much an W211 E55 underneath.
