The connector that won't budge

Requesting your unconventional ideas for pulling a connector that absolutely won't budge.

You're looking at the connector to the crankshaft position sensor. The instructions everywhere state: "Push the tab and gently remove the connector." but this one is practically welded on. There's no give, no wiggle. The push tab disintegrated because it's 2006 dried out plastic. So my question is, is there any way to still salvage this connector before I go medieval--particularly interested in options that won't leave me stuck with a broken CPS inside the bell housing. Thanks in advance.

I made a video for the location of the sensor, it also shows the connector. Fortunately, my connector was remove easily by simply pressing the tab and lifting it.

Maybe a previous owner glued it on? Or corrosion on the pins from the sensor and connector?

Thank you, everyone.

For posterity's sake, I was able to take a long pry bar and a rubber mallet to chisel the rest of the tab off and the connector finally slid off. If you know this location, it's elbows deep without much of a clearance under the hood so visibility is highly limited. For left-handed people, it must be an absolute bear.

Not yet sure how I will secure this connector going forward but I welcome your suggestions. I would hate to glue it on, but the engine has 125,000 miles so maybe it doesn't matter?

You can always buy a new connector from MB, probably about $4. Make sure it connects to the new crank sensor and tweak it for easy disconnection before installing.

Indeed, or try to source it from a breakers yard or so. But in this case, I would follow the advice from @machild and try to source a new connector from MB
