Hello,
We have p0016 code and sometimes p0016 and p0017 codes together.
I researched camshaft sensor holes. I took pictures at 305 degrees. I am guessing circles are centred. It means balance is not the issue. What do you think?

You may have the oil migration issues these engines often have (engines M271, M272, M273). I have attacehd a MB Service Campaign that discusses the issue. The issue is the cam sensor weeps oil at the electrical connection. This oil then migrates up the wiring harness until it reaches the ECU and all kinds of issues present. Hopefully, if there is oil in the wiring harness the oil has not reached the ECU. A wiring adapter is availble from MB (I think the correct part number is 271 150 01 56) that stops the migrating of the oil up the wiring harness. The problem is the sensor weeps oil and the harness is twisted wire which allows wicking the oil inside the wire insulation. The adapter section is solid wire which does not wick oil. Adpater is about 5" long and very stiff, but it can be connected between sensor and the original wiring harness.
