Ipod not read with CarPlay usb connected

Ipod not read with CarPlay usb connected
Hi … My CLS 53 2020 has two usb sockets .. 1 where there’s an IPod connected and 2 where my iPhone is connected for CarPlay ..
both were working when I chose either source for music .. I could use iPhone Spotify when I select CarPlay or use IPod when I select iPod music .. IPod was normally read and accessed when I select it.
sent the car for service and they updated software .. not sure if it’s related but just saying ..
problem now (few days later) is when CarPlay usb is connected, the iPod doesn’t read device .. when I remove the iPhone CarPlay from the usb the iPod reads normally from its usb !! In other words the iPod doesn’t read when CarPlay is connected !!
Any thoughts ? Is it the update ? Is it something else ?

delete your vehicle from bluetooth and CarPlay settings and then pair again
