Exclamation Your new exhaust droning a bit at Highway Speeds? I have the answer...

Yesterday I was hauling a set of wheels that I had gotten DRs put on in my car. To make room I dropped the rear seats. When I did that I noticed that the exhaust noise was MUCH louder. This caused me to think about where exhaust noise was entering the car. It struck me that it must be coming through the trunk, and up through the rear deck. So I did some testing...

If you look under the rear deck (in the trunk) there are a bunch of holes cut through the metal. All you need to do is get some clear packing tape and seal up the holes toward the rear of the car. I left the two nearest the front open for ventilation, and, obviously, did not cover the holes for the subwoofer. I have NO droning at all now. This is a super cheap, invisible mod.

Yep, but as I said in the title, that if you have modified your exhaust it is a nice mod.

Speak for yourself.

My car's still stock, and if this can be done I'll do it.

Thanks, AaronC, for the info about the easy noise abatement tweak.

Hmmm my car is so smooth and quiet, even with the resonator removed that sometimes I forget to upshift in manual mode.
