speedshift works wonders

went to Angeles Crest HWY the other night for some hill runs. I used 3rd most of the time on the way up manually because I was in a caravan. On the way down however I tried both the manual mode and just leave it in D. i find that the speedshift works soo much better in D than having to manually tap the lever myself. I've never really tried the speedshift in D before, but it really works like how AMG programed it to do. It really downshift and holds that gear all the way through the corner. It even holds that optimum gear until you made your own gear change or guns it.

anywayz, just a change from how i usually like to use the manual mode.

I am very impressed with it. It is responsive and it does actually shift quickly. The car can be driven very aggressively and the transmission adapts and really does well. I like this car more and more. The harder you drive it the more you believe it is on par with the likes of the M3 and S4 but its so much more comfortable and easy to live with and nobody knows what you are driving. I wish it had a big *** Carbon Fiber deck lid spoiler though.

You should try the real manual mode in the C55. It really works much better then using the manual mode in the other cars. Also, you are able to use 5th gear unlike the C32 where it is just drive. Like with i had my C230 and put it in 4th gear and floored the car, somehow it would still downshift. With the C55 if i put it in 5th gear on the highway and floor it, it will not downshift and just move hella slow!

yea, i know what you are talking about. it's the new manual mode where they stay in one gear until you change it.

BUT to think about it, BMW has already done it w/ the Steptronic cuz that's how the Steptronic works back in my 2000 328Ci.

anywayz, i wish the 32 had the manual like the 55.

I am still not satisfied with the manual mode. I so wish it was an SMG tranny! I would totally love my car then!

Heh, so pretty much what you're saying FrankW, is that it works how it's supposed to?
