Hard Wired My Passport

I just hard wired my passport radar detector. The only problem is it doesn't turn off with when i turn off my engine. I have to manually turn it off. I hard wired it VIA fuse box on the driver side. Does anyone have any suggestion on which fuse to use? They seem to be all live.

if it's similar to the C55, the front fuse box is always live, you have to run a phone cord(radio shack) and use a "add a fuse" (auto zone)to hook up a free slot in the back fuse box in the trunk....you have to run the phone cord and tuck it underneath your inside roof lining....it'll take you like 1/2 hr to do, I had to do some splicing to the connect that radar's cord to the phone ext cord, so be sure you have the wire splicing wrench....that's how I did my Escort X50

here's a link, it may help

Post number 14 or 17 can't remember which, test light helps but you can trial and error, in the trunk on the left side of the trunk wall.

yeah u can use the fuse boxes in the front. gotta go to the trunk only. also, there is nothing wrong with going onto the fuse box. infact, some dealers can do it for you if you want and they do the same.

Do This

Tap in to the cigarette lighter wires down in the center console. There is plenty of juice available in those wires. Carefully pry the shifter bezel from the front, no tools needed use your fingers, it will get out easily. Lift the panel where the bezel was attached to it and it will come out easily as well and follow the two wires that goes in the back of the lighter. Put everything back in reverse order.
Hope it helps.
