Eh, lots of fakers in LA.

I saw the best thing last weekend. It was a white BMW 330i with the 330i badges still on (the right side of course). It had NO mods, but it had a BRABUS emblem on the left of the decklid AND v12 Biturbo at its fenders (the emblems looked waay too big though, so they were probably fake emblems too!) I wish I could have taken a pic that would be posted on here and e46.

Was the C240 on like 18 inch rims that looked kinda big b/c the car was on stock suspension and looked really high, with a "dual" exhaust that looked like it was gonna fall off? I think that guy parks in the same structure as I in DTLA... He's a goober.

As a matter of fact, if your wearing a daytona I will check you on it.

if it said C32 i would be angry but i would not come make a big post about it.

do you also walk around inspecting people to check if their daytona's are real? watch for the movement of the second hand.....

It's southern California. You wouldn't understand

Until this harmless rebadging crosses the line ie has legal (buying, selling)
implications, no harm-no foul.

Badging

I would like to put a fake brabus (sp.? I'm not sure b/c i am that big of a poser lol), along with 20 inch lexani's with a decent lip on 30 series tires. Along with that I would like to put brabus badges in exactly every location to make it a true "replica". I plan on selling this vehicle as a "replica", and where I will be selling it I will make about $4,000 from it because the people here are dumb and have too much money. (Florida)

Basically, I make money from driving a nice car... Best job ever! I started out when I was 16 with a '95 dodge neon with 120k miles on it, now 5 years later I have a '01 c240 w/ half the milage literally, soon to be a fake brabus, paid off completely with out ever having a job or no help, just modding and selling cars.

If the average price of a c240 in my area is going for 24,000 usd, what would be a fair price to ask for when all mods are done? It will also have 2 -tv's, an indash PC by clarion aka Autopc Joyride with voice recognition, all very professionally installed.

I paid $16,000 for the vehicle stock. My estimated investment after all mods will be around the upper $18's. I believe that if I ask $23-$25k that would be fair. Let me know what you all think about it, and give me some suggestions of popular modding that would attract more potential buyers.

PS I have read almost all of the c class posts and their really isn't much about modding and selling vehicles for profit, maybe i should copyright the idea lmao

What's a 'link' in this context?

I guess this thread confirms Mercedes' intent was successful: to lower the age demographic.

Truthfully, does it really matter if they have an AMG badge or whatnot on their car? I find them funny but they dont bother me at all.

What really bothers me is seeing a beautiful german car in an accident, regardless of model designation.

LOL u know it. man i also see regular middle-aged people with fake / misbadged cars. i see middle-aged white women to older asian men, and of course mostly teenagers, who have "AMG" badged their non-amg's. i see W163 ML320s, W220 S500s, and W208 CLK's most often that have an AMG badge on their car. today i even saw a CLK320 cabriolet with AMG badge and a V8 badge LOL. the most common, however is the W208 clk430 with amg badge. i'm not hating on any of the w208, w220, or w163 in general, but only the specific ones that have amg badges but are not. i guess it's not always the owners' fault tho cause sometimes i see dealer cars with amg-badged cars. amg posers are by far the worst group out of any poser car group...it used to be M badges on non-M e36's and S badges on non-s4 b5 a4's, but the demographics have seemed to matured.

i care cause it is slowly devaluing amg as a company and hurting amg's resale value because the demand (affected by the apparent supply/number of "amg" on road) is distorted by the general public's perception of amg and how commonplace it is becoming. now i know that when i do sell my car, it will be worth less than if there were fewer amg "fakers". i guess Mercedes and AMG itself is to blame, as they tend to screw over their owners. c32 people and w209 clk55 people have it the worst i think - i think there should be some more differentiation between amg and non-amg if there's such a price premium. no disrespect at any to non-amg cars and i don't mean to come off with an "elitist attitude", so sorry if it seems this way.

I have heard (perhaps on this very board?) that some dealers make small modifications to the car (like just AMG front brake rotors/calipers) and then think that's enough to put the AMG badge on there.

Also, what is the original poster refering when he's talking about a 'link'?
