I waited 16 weeks for my 841s, I was frustrated and angry, but Mike did give me free anodized ceramic dome-etched caps and free overnight shipping.
So I'm not complaining

I like the HRE competition series but was disappointed by the wait times I was quoted to get a set. I am going to get a set of "classics" from ccwheel for track use. I know someone who uses and love them...
iForge; I just remember that iForge made a stick about another company copying their copys of HREs, and I just figured as well to stay away from them....

iForged is a buncha crap. People from ClubLexus have problems with them too. Avoid them by all means.
As for HRE, they are my number one sweet spot. If you got the dough (or the hookup) go for HREs. They will not disappoint, as you can easily tell from all the members with HRE's on their cars.
So guys, I dropped this hammer on my cars hood and it made a dent and the paint is scratched :p
Just messin' with ya bro.
psk145: Did you really order directly through HRE?! You could've saved hundreds of dollars by going through a dealer!

Untrue, I dont believe that for a second. I have 2 friends that own iForged and are very happy with the quality, but yes they do take WAY WAY to long to make the wheels and moderate customer service. Anyways, I too had a 540 that put me into a wall and the rim was ruined because TIRE PRESSURE was too LOW in the rear, causing the rim to cut through the tire. I bet that is exactly what happened to your friend. Need to watch low profiles. and i'm sorry about your friend, hope he's okay.

Hahaha. Yeah because I make any dough from what I help sell. I know good reputable vendors for everything I suggest and help offer, it seems the guys that get the bad service have gone through iForged directly and what not.
Whenever people chose iForged, I help them meet dealers that have ordered hundreds if not more sets from iForged, so they have plenty of push. I'm sure you understand man.
And I never said I owned a set of iForged, because that's not all you said

Two main issues we have found:
1. Rather the a chip that you can touch up, when the powder coating "chips" large pieces fall off, and there is no way to repair other then re-coating the wheel. I had a set on a car once that had to be coated like 5 times in 2 years.
2. With some wheels (one is the SSR Comp), the heating process in the powder coating method changes something in the structure of the wheel, and softens the wheel. SSR and some other wheel makers have released warnings on this through Tire Rack. I had this happen to me on a track car also.
Thanks,
Brad

No..BASF and 3M are two of the best paints in the world..thats why they are used on most german vehicles....
powdercoating is the cheap method of getting paint on metals...you spray, then cook the paint on for durability...
So No, powdercoating wheels comes second to using quality paint methods.
