C32 Looses To M3
. There's a 325i in the garage right now n i've always known it's an i6 haha, my point mainly was that it was a 6 cylinder car, wasn't thinking about the whole V or I :p
I was at third gear, I thought I let this guy went in front of me and ket me be the one to chase after. But.......surprise he was fast and I almost could not catch up...and I saw his exhaust came out fire - why was that?

The Evo cars are very fast and actually 1 of very few jap cars I could ever consider as a car for my selves. The flames out of the exhoust is not unusual for a Turbo cars, it could indicate that he had done some modification on the engine/exhoust system but no neceserilly.
The Evo is capable of scaring you of the line, and until app 60-70 mph if launced correctly, but then the C55 is the faster car, IF the Evo is stock. Its a very tunerfriendly car and just some small modification would make it a very fast car. I would guess he has some small modification done since you did not close in on him....
Most of the Evo running in my part of the world is lightly or heavily modified.
Take a look here to get an ideal on the difference in power EVO VII vs C55

"With 260kW and an impressive 450Nm, it easily makes up in outright muscle what it loses in capacity and cylinder count. That stupendous 0-100kmh time leaves it just 0.7s behind a certain Ferrari and comfortably ahead of BMW's M5 (5.5s) and Subaru's WRX STi (5.8s). Porsche's $100,000-dearer 911 Carrera is but 0.1s faster."

C32 review
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
We will be having a gtg very shortly, and this time it will be closer as i have been using 98 RON "same as the M3" fuel for a week or so now and my 32 feels a lot pokier.
stay tuned for the video
So when are you guys gonna run again? remember need video pls.

Best launch will be with traction control OFF. Practice beforehand to get your "optimal' launch RPM: left foot on gas, right on brake (using US pedal placement here!
What you want to do is raise RPMs as high as you can without getting the evil spin. This can be as little as 800 RPM to as high as 2000+, depending upon tires, surface, temp, etc...then, when the "go" light comes, you can either simultaneously release the brake and dump the throttle, OR if that gets you too much spin (it will in the 5.5L V8s, not sure about the 3.2L SC), try this: instead of mashing the throttle at the start, keep revs steady, yank foot off of brake, wait a split second for the front end to lift to get a bit of weight transfer to the rear to help traction, and then rapidly squeeze throttle to floor (again, at this point depending upon vehicle, you might even be able to stomp it; key is to experiment!). In higher temps, you'll be able to use higher RPMs...
If you have a GTECH or something similar, or can borrow one, it helps to compare different launch techniques and see which one nets you the best 0-60 times. My fastest times are always obtained with the above technique. Just stomping it off the line isn't going to cut it with these cars.
As far as shifting goes: let the tranny do the work. I and several others have noted that the tranny seems to give noticeably slower upshifts with manual shifting under WOT conditions than leaving it in auto mode.
