The purpose of the spacers is to separate some of the radiant heat from the block from getting to the intake manifold thus allowing cooler temperatures to reside inside.

Let me see if can clear up some confusion:
1. Resonator bypass simply replaces factory resonator. See image 1. As the result car sounds a little bit more aggressive and there is small power gain (2-3HP). It is not illegal to remove it. Catalytic converters are different story.
2. Heat spacers are made from phenolic plastic and are designed to separate intake surge tanks from the kompressor. See image 2. As a result we see around 20F reduction in their temperature and a more consistent car.
At this time we do not have heat spacers for NA V6s or V8s, however if there is enough interest we will make them.
3. SL55 splitter makes no difference on air filter size. There are two filter sizes one is for C/SLK32s and E/SL/G/S/CLS55s. Kit will fit C32 with stock airboxes, we can also make one for C32 with 55 air boxes.
Thanks.

Vadim: So the spacers are made of a type of plastic? I was wondering how the spacers would help if they were made of metal and would eventually transfer the hear, but plastic makes sense now.

Answers:
1. It is 450F plastic, so melting is not a problem. Heat spacers have been on my C32 for the past 14 months.
2. On C55 there is no TQ loss. Just throatier sound and slight gain at the top end.
Pricing should be available by the weekend.

My friend and I started the process last night. We are going to get the 3" pipe at a muffler shop tomorrow and finish up. He has a welder and all of the necessary tools to do it right. I can't wait to hear the difference.
