Hey!
I have been in contact with people of MKB Germany too, due that I intend to buy Headers and High performance catalytic converters for my C43.
Originally, I have spoken Helmut Reber (Finance, Marketing & Sales), and actually I spoke with him this morning.
I called him to price just the Headers and High performance catalytic converters for my new 2003 C32 that will be here in 2 weeks. He offer me the completely kit for 11.426,00 EURO, the same that Accord posted. I insisted for just the price of the parts that I wanted and he said 5,544.80 EURO, the same price of C43 or E55 V8 ones . Additionally, he claimed more that 20 hp in the top.
Well folks, I do believe that the Headers and High performance catalytic converters are expensive. I was really clear with Helmut mentioning that for me is difficult to understand why Headers and High performance catalytic for a V8 cost the same than for a V6? .... he promises me to replay an email with a better price, and I hope is more reasonable; I’ll post it.


Further, I spoke with people from H&S Elektronik Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH, Thomas Scholz to start the deal of Tuningchip my 2003 C32:

(They claim 26hp more and 35 Nm, but the addition in the web side is not right, it must to be total 380hp and 485Nm [as Thomas confirmed me ], and the price here in USA is 1,281 Euros)
I have a really good impression of this company because I Tuningchiped my C43 with them. In one sentence, is just a wonderful job with my C43 ECU, the car is much quicker and faster than was stock:

I had hited C43 stock 158 aprox at 5,700 RPMs and now with H&S+K&N panel Filters 170 aprox at 6,100 RPMs

Here are some stats that I did before and after. Now the C43 is much more faster over 70 mph and so on as you see, and I believe that is 8 seconds faster to hit 158 than before:

0-40 mph.... 3.2 / 3.0
0-50 mph.... 4.5 / 4.1
0-60 mph.... 5.8 / 5.3

0-100 mph.... 14.8 / 13.3

@ mph .... 98.8 / 102.1

This is my story, the same that I'm planing for my new C32, the H&S Elektronik Tuningsoftware, and perhaps the MKB Headers and High performance catalytic converters.

i can't understand german. can someone tell me about this company and how they chip your car? do they send you a chip or do u send your ecu to them or do they send you a new ecu w/ their chip on it?

I removed really carefully the ECU from my car (I can help you in the procedure), no more that 5 minutes. I sent it to Germany (FedEx 2 days, $68.99), putting in the customs report detail: “Automotive defective part”. Moreover, I sent an international check in Euros for the total amount. The operation was between 5-6 days and you may install for yourself.

If you review the numbers:
H&S Elektronik Tuningsoftware gives to the C32 US Specs (349 bhp, 338 Lbs.-Ft or 450 Nm) = 375 hp and 364 Lbs.-Ft or 485 Nm, for so far 1,281 Euros (ECU here).

RENNTech (SOFTWARE Upgrade + Crankshaft Pulley Kit) gives to the C32 US Specs (349 bhp, 338 Lbs.-Ft or 450 Nm) = 394 hp and 361 Lbs.-Ft or 480 Nm, for so far $ 3990+ shipping and handling.

That I'm trying to show is that H&S Elektronik Tuningsoftware V/S RENNTech (SOFTWARE Upgrade + Crankshaft Pulley Kit) gives less horse power (19hp) but better torque (5Nm) for $2,800 less , it may to be considered.

Hello John,

Please don’t use “Oberklasse”. They owe us a lot of money and we don’t want to work with them any more.

Every Mercedes-dealer can fit the parts in your car. Please connect another Mercedes-garage. You can buy the KIT from us directly and the Mercedes-garage will fit the parts only. Of course, you can ask a garage to purchase the parts, too. But please: Not “Oberklasse”

The time for 0-100 km/h is under 5.1 sec.

I just emailed him back asking about warantee issues, what would become void, etc. I also told him that North American dealers won't do the install (Even though that's probably not true, just majority who don't have the experience or those who don't want the liability, I suppose).

Share my story of H&S chips tuning half year ago.
My car dealer is also contract with them and able to telnet
source codes and rewrite to a modified ECU chips locally.
As soon as I read their ADs on the web, I asked the dealer to
arrange "everything" and paid in advance.
I just want my C32 more power at that time (Jan 2002)
H&S received the money and replied
"THEY'RE NOT READY for C32,though they posted ADs"
I got my money back from the dealer and forget H&S.

Hope this time they're ready for C32 chip tunning.......

They charge 1400 Euro (=1400 $ nowadays)
Too much for too little ! You probably wont even feel the upgrade.
Be honest, if you can afford a C32 you can get a 'real' tuning of 400 hp or more !

I also talked to Carlson and they will bring out a kit that does 390-400 hp and will go for about 7000 $. I am not sure what they modify.

Or should I just sit back and wait for a tuner to come up with 450 hp or more ?

Ok link didn't work so my question is is the 426hp at the crank or the wheel?

Also if at the crank wouldn't the Code3 or LET products do the same or better for about half oe less?
If at the wheel wouldn't LETs Twin Turbo or 185mm pulley with all tested products and installed fair about the same or better for less?

there's a company over here that are still an agent for MKB,

I rang them last year to find out what was available and was pretty interested, but when they told me the cost I nearly choked

needless to say I gave it a miss

c32used ....that is 426hp at the crank btw

Interesting is that MKB only uses a slightly smaller SC-Pulley (about 2mm) and no bigger CP. They are making power with ECU and Cams... If the 426Hp at the crank are realistic, I don't know...

The package is way to expensive in my opinion...
