Shoulda taken the Kia....
If you ever EVER think to rent from HERTZ, think again...You will be sorry I went to drop my car of for service at Mercedes this morning and the representative for Hertz (mind you this is INSIDE of Mercedes) is chewing tobacco and spitting it into a coke can. I wanted to puke. He offered me a Kia or a Ford Focus...so I threw a fit..screw if I was going to drive a Kia.... Long story short...he ends up giving me a C230 as the loaner...... I get to work..open the truck..and low and behold..a brown bag! hm..what could be in there..well none other than EMPTY BEER CANS! I was in so much shock..but that's not the worst part.... I opened the ashtray compartment because (I know this is going to sound so stupid) I put my house keys in there so I know exactly where they are..guess what was in there...to my surpise..E...yes good ol' E. I was outraged! Shocked! Pissed! A whole lot of emotions all at once. I immediately called my lawyer and he advised me to call the cops... I called the cops of course. They validated that yes it was E. Can you imagine if I got pulled over for something..I would have been thrown in jail..and the cops would NEVER have believed that I rented the car that way...So what did Hertz do for me? Brace yourself...This is a good one..They said..."We are very sorry for the misunderstanding today Ms. Kim. We are giving you a $100 gift certificate towards another Hertz rental for the future" What the hell....Did they think I'd actually rent from them again? Are they kidding themselves. They got something else coming..a lawsuit! The Lesson Learned: NEVER EVER EVER RENT FROM HERTZ!

bleh, I was sitting at a light, and I hear screeching tires, I look up and see this POS black accord surrounded by white smoke speeding towards me.
Im fine, bumper took very little damage surprisingly. It just got pushed in some. My car must be a target... I got rear ended 2 months ago from a teenager who was driving in a leg cast, and a truck ran over a ladder last week and caused a piece of it to fly into my front bumper.

What is E? Ecstassy or Egg or Empty Beer Cans? (seriously, I don't know what it is....)
Over here, Hertz has the best cars but the worst customer service. In DE/PA (where my company is), I usually rent one from Dollar.... good car (the last time I got Chrysler 300 Touring), cheap and good customer service also....
But... my local MB dealer doesn't contract a car rental company.... they have their own. I always get a C240 / ML350 / E320.

Just goes to show ya..you need to pre-flight anything YOU are going to drive off of THEIR lot...does not matter whether its Hertz, Enterprise, Avis whatever....Much like you should verify that the vehicle they gave you is absent any damage BEFORE you leave their lot. Those are the type of lessons we all learn in due time, it's usually the poignant examples, like the one you mention, that makes us remember them in the future.

Im really thinking about claiming for the first one. My mom is an insurance agent, and she says flying objects usually wont increase my premium since it was unavoidable. Still debating on claiming the first cause I dont want it to bite me in the ***!!

I as just going to say..how is a flying object YOUR fault? they can't raise your insurance because of that! just be thankful you're not a 23 year old female who has insurance under her name only for the first time ever...it's a *****!
