Use of C55 air recirculating button
Guess I were the only foolish owner
found out very late that continuous pressing of the C55 air recirculating button will enable automatic close of all windows including the moonroof ! I never tried that on my ex W210 E320.....may be I should ask my friend who bought my car to try that

it's the "tunnel mode" feature.. if you have all your windows + moon roof open. press and hold the recirculating air button and it will automatically close them all.. if you closed all of them you can also open all of them the same way.. press and hold the button and they will all roll down..

oh yeah, the ac/heater/fan also has to be on for this this to work. if you're just driving around with windows down and the ac not turned on, tunnel mode won't work

Another undocumented "feature" is the hill holder mode of the automatic transmission. If your car is going up a hill, and you stop, you can take your foot off the brake. The transmission will make a click sound, and the car will not roll backward. Feeding a little fuel will make another click and your car moves. It only works if your transmission mode is set to C. The S position allows the car to roll backward when you take your foot of the brake. I discovered this quite by accident on a steep road in Hang Hau Village.

When I tried the reverse today, I discovered the windows will only open to a status as before ; i.e. if you opened 2 windows all half way , it will return to tha same , and not open all windows amd moon roof fully.

The tunnel mode closes the windows and sunroof fully, but when you open them, it returns to the position they were previously set. If you had the window halfway down, the computer figures you wanted it that way. On a rainy day, you might have the window open just a crack for fresh air, then take the cross harbour tunnel. Here you would want to close the windows because the air is a bit smelly in there. When you emerge on the Kowloon side, pushing the button will restore all four windows to just a crack open. In the rain it would not be good to have them come all the way down.
The hill holder works automatically when the front of the car is higher than the rear, AND the transmission switch is in C position (comfort.) When you switch to the S position (sport) the hill holder function does not work. If you take your foot off the brake on a slightly steep incline in the S mode, the car will roll backward. The switch is next to the shift lever on the console, and the mode is reported in the Multi-function display in the very right lower corner. There is a box around the letter C or S.

And if you're referring to your C43 - that's a different area all together - so it's not too surprising that something relevant to a C55 might or might not apply.
Having, throughout my automotive career, been the person to actually write this stuff, it would be nice to know that someone actually does read it and therefore enjoys the feature from day ONE, rather than wait for a post somewhere among the billions of pages of websites.
I think it's great that you actually got your manual and checked!!

what I need now. As the weather is cooler, I tend to open a little gap of windows for fresh air with the air cond off. I could open only a little as the highway is very windy. I do pass through Cheung Ching Tunnel of the No.3 HWY daily!
Still not too clear where the hill holder switch is ....

The hill holder function is automatic when you are in the comfort mode of the transmission. When in the sport mode, the hill holder function does not work. To switch from comfort to sport, push the button near the shift lever. It is marked with the letters C and S.
