Total Destruction

The weather is perfect out here in the desert, the evenings are dry but cool, 65 on a hot night. I'm driving home from dinner with 4 people in the car and we are calmly joking about this and that. Dinner was great, I had a chicken pesto w/ BL Smooth ( Budlight) and my wife had some wood fired pizza. On the way home the drive was rather uneventful, just some slow driving old people and the constant merging of vehicles trying to weave their way pass one another. Then I notice the head lights behind me riding rather close, i didn't pay them any attention until finally, i just gave it enough gas to give them their personal space back. The car continued to have a tail gate party that I evidently was thowing but wasn't invited to. I then switch lanes, the audacity of this driver. It was a porsche, from the front end it wasn't evident to me what particular breed of porsche i was dealing with and at first it was unreaveling. i played the game carefully considering I had 4 people in the car and under these circumstances any REAL porsche would hand my *** to me. Unfortunantly for him he had a Boxter S. the next stop was approaching and the light is one I'm familiar with and takes excessivly long to change. I nudge forward indicating the obvious. He does the same and so with an SUV to my right. we do this till the light changes. at green he guns this poor thing. He took me till about 20 feet when he shifted .............. From this point on he was obliterated . ... I was surprised that with the added weight in my car (4 people) he didn't hold up better. i have yet to really be defeated yet. My locals tend to be fond of Gt Continentals and Aston Martin Vanquishes - in the same scenario with one of those cars I would be delighted to get beaten.

Carry on.

Hey vic32

Good story. Poor Boxster had no chance. Were you on 111 ? Cars really move along with the 55MPH limits. Just really got to watch the red light runners. Seems like every day there is another story.
I live La Quinta and just got a C55 (White with 11-99 license frame) from PSMB. Only 150 miles so far so I'm easy on it.
What color is yr car ? Know of any other C-AMG around ?

how is the weather down there at this time of the year?

I believe from now to about March all the "snow birds" migrate to their winter homes in Palm springs, La quinta, Rancho Mirage.. ect

The heat really kills the C32, therefore try to invest on some coolin' mods.

Porsch Boxters S should be no problem, unless its a newer model or the Cayman. Then it would be good match.

Newer Boxter with 280hp or Cayman run low 5's and mid 13's to high 13's.... too much wheel spin on the c32 or too much heat and you will loose but not by much.

Can you give an example of a cooling mod - the only one I've heard of is a supercharger/manifold seal that supposedly keeps the temp down from evosport maybe.

Is there some intercooler mod?

Many thanks for any information!

Desertsun 55

I was called by PSMB to look at your car, the guy (ted I believe)called me about two weeks ago and I barely went today and it was gone - It has ash interior correct? . I have a silver C32 amg with D2 plates on it. It's the only one i've seen around here. The only other C class amg I know is my budddy but he moved to Newport. you can find me roaming el paseo just to look at the CL/SL's everywhere. Also always just driving about because I need to get out of the house ( I work from home). The desert is great and in the summer I drive my wife's e320. no need to take the c32 out.

I live in Palm Desert. Love the desert.

carry on,
Vic

EvoSport has some set ups that can help you to keep the car cooler.
