C55 Abnormal engine/transmission noise

C55 Abnormal engine/transmission noise
After 15 months, 21000km, this is the first time I hear some addtional strange noise from engine of a Mercedes.
The sound itself is not loud and it is only more noticeble when the car run warm. The source of the sound seems to be coming from the middle of the interior. It may be from the engine , it may be from the transmission.
The strange sound will be heard regardless if the gear is in parking, D or neutral.
It is hard to describe, but it is like sound of continuous engine pulses from a boat engine. When the sound becomes noticeble , it is continuous , no stoppages.
I did noty like this sound from the engine because it sounds like my car engine is aging something. Not sure whether this sound is implying any components are going to fail...
I am going to the dealer for a check, but my worry is the engineer may not hear the sound as the volume is pretty small. So I would take hime with me to some quite areas for a good listen.
Any body has same issues?
