i am thinking about purchasing extended warranty for my 02 C32........i would prefer warranty offered my MB....not outside warranty company.......I've called couple local dealers already but all they are offering are warranty from outside comapany.....
If anyone knows any MB dealer offering this option please provide info

I was wanting to purchase an extended warrenty but because I got my car thru someone other than the MB dealer I was told that the dealership could not provide me with one.

Let me know what you find. I am interested..

Same here......MB won't sell me extended warranty. Bought car from dealer that was not MB.

Any ideas anyone???

according to mbusa rep that i spoke with, mb extended can only be purchased within the first year of being a new car.

Yes, that is correct...and only the original buyer is eligible to purchase an extended factory warranty directly from MB. Others are eligible for a warranty through Daimler-Chrysler, which is the one I am considering for my '03. It is considered a factory warranty, which will eliminate any interpretation, acceptance or honoring issues down the road. I called Lisa Lehrbaum at Courtesy Motors in CA, whose name I got from another thread on this forum. She was not available (on vacation, I think), but I was politely helped by "Jay" at the same dealership. The number there is 800-655-3535. He quoted me $3385. for 7/100,000, no deductible. The only exclusions are wear and tear items. I received lower offers, but not considered factory warranties. Anyway, let me know if anyone gets a lower offer from the same dealership.

i just spoke to Jay @ courtesy motors.....he quoted me $3585($0 deductible, 7yrs/100,000 miles) the warranty is through Daimler-Chrysler....

Actually, if you have more than 50K miles, you can only get warranty service from a third party. Although, if you have less than 50K and 1 month or 1K miles under your current manufacturer's / extended warranty, you can get a warranty from your MB dealership called "Total Protection Plan" . You have a choice of 2 plans 1) New Supreme Coverage;36 months / 100K from warranty purchase date for a cost of $4,000, 2) New Deluxe Coverage; 36 / 100K from warranty purchase date for a cost of $3,700.

The interesting question is what to do once you hit 100K miles? I think here is the true need.
