H&R Coilovers - Before & After (Pics)
I just installed H&R Coilovers, here are before and after pics. It handles much better through the twisties, IMO on par with a B6 S4. It is firmer, feels about 25%.

very nice...
how much and where?
I live in So Cal as well...
I have inquired about springs with a well known shop and they told me it will take 6 hours @$95 + plus the cost the springs?
does this sound about right?
H&R or Renntech is what I'm looking for.
*Today i'm picking up a set of used EVOsport pulley. I will have them installed on Tuesday. Now I need the springs for sure.

IwantA124: Thanks. The ride is a little firmer than I was expecting, but it is still smooth...if that makes sense. It handles WAY better. Before, it had more understeer than I was confortable with. Every time I would push it, the front would start sliding. Now, it feels like it just plants to the ground, the harder you push it the better it performs. I have only probably went about 85% of the limits so far.
x-tian-230k: Thanks for the input, I love the AMG wheels. I want to stick as close to factory as possible.
sdsilverm3: I think there is probably about another half to a full inch. I wanted to try and make sure there there was a finger to two finger gap.
Bif powell: It was about a 6 hour install, Evosport. I didn't want to mess with it...don't have the tools and I have just enough experience to screw it up.
TopGun32: You are right on the money. I went with Evosport. I would expect to pay around $2K when it is all said and done if you have them professionally installed, aligned and tax. Good ole California 7.75% sales tax! I would go with H&R coilovers if you are looking for a smoother ride and height adjustability. If you want to track the car, it seems like everyone says to go with PSS9's.

Thanks for the update and pics.. this is great info.. I am in the process of pricing and comparing suspensions which is my first major upgrade. I was also planning on keeping my factory chrome amg 17" twin spokes for a while. Man the wheels look small after lowering though. I think I will have to do the suspension and wheels at the same time, going up to 18's or 19's either factory or aftermarket..

Stock to stock there is a world of difference between the B6 S4 and the C32's handling. The B6 is a hands down winner in every aspect.
Have you driven the B6 much? I've owned both cars and I guess it's somewhat encouraging that, given enough money, the C32's handling can come close to that of a stock B6.
Thanks for the pics. By the way, approximately how much should I expect to dish out for H&R's CO installed?

The car looks great lowered, even a completely stock car looks better with a more aggressive stance! That being said, I think with a nice set of wheels the look would be completed. Your modding kinda quick arent you?? (got the car a month ago if that?)

Expect to pay $2k for everything, including CA tax, installation, alignment, etc.
