Oil or Tranny Cooler

I just bought by 06 C55 on Friday and wanted to know if anyone knew if it has an oil or tranny cooler? I can't seem to find any info on those topics.

C55s have both. Engine coolant is used as a medium.

If you want to track the car, I would highly recommend adding an additional tranny cooler.

I traded in my STi (cobb sway bars, aps exhaust, cobb stage 2 ecu, aps intake, cusco camber plates, cobb track pads, sparco 5 pt harness, etc) cause I blew the engine at 120 mph on a banked straight at Texas World Speedway in College Station, TX. I oil starved the top forward cylinder and threw a rod and poked a 2" hole in my block. That was an expensive weekend because they denied the warranty claim, only had 6,500 miles on the car. I want to make sure this engine can take an occassional track weekend before I blow this one up, it is more expensive than my STi. Can you send me some links to some documentation?

Ouch! That must of hurt.

I have not experienced or heard of anyone blowing AMG motor to oil starvation on the track. My C32 has ran at Willow Springs both small and big tracks - many, many times without any problems.

I would recommend getting Accusump to keep oil pressure in case of starvation and axuillary tranny cooler. B&M makes a variety of different sizes.

There is really nothing on-line that I can send you a link to. If you want to get factory manual, just search e-bay under "MB service manuals", you can get DVDs for around $50.

Have fun!

thanks for the info, 2 different salesmen, one said yes the other said no to oil cooler, so I was not sure if it had it, it looks like it did in front of the radiator, but I am not that "mechanical", i just like to drive fast cars fast.
