Oh no.. what now.. anyone have this problem?

Ok.. driving home tonight the alternator/battery light came on. At an idle I can feel the car feels rough.. Its definitely not idling right.. Should I assume the alternator went out? Should I even drive it to the dealer? Still under extended warranty at 89990..

Anyone have this problem? Figure I should take my amp and speakers out so the dealer doesn't try to screw me..

I love my car.. but she is a ***** sometimes.. fifth trip to the shop in three months..

Turns out it was the alternator, free replacement under Starmark warranty. Had them glycol test the tranny too, nothing found.. Still feels a little jerky so they will test drive it again. Alternator won't be in until Tuesday.. I miss my car already .. two more days to go.. At least I got a Merc loaner..

Update for anyone that's intested.. The alternator went out. None of the dealerships in San Diego carry this part. It must be ordered new from Germany. It is taking a week to get here. This alternator cost 1100 bucks BTW! Thank god for the Starmark.. I had exactly 90k miles on the car when I pulled in the service center.

So a whole week maybe longer for this one.. Sucks.. I got a bunk *** c240 Guess its better than a toyota camery..

amgmark - time to unload your car after this fix. I don't think you want to go past 100K with this kind of pricey parts ...

No.. that was the cost of the part alone!! I called another dealer to see if they really had to order from Germany. They confirmed that yes, they had to order the new part from Germany at the cost of ruffly 1100 bucks.. without installation.

Plan on keeping the car til 110k miles or give it to my wife when her lease on the BMW is up.. I figure what else could go wrong.. everything has been replaced now.. knock on wood ..
