What should an '05 C55 go for at auction???

I've seen a few C55's up for sale lately and wonder what one should go for at a high line auction??? Asking prices seem to be in the mid to upper $40's right now which would indicate that dealers are trying to buy them in the high $30s to low $40s. Is that possible??? A $60k car not even two years old going for under $40!!!! Is this because of the new models coming out or something else. I don't see the other AMG cars taking as big a hit.

What you said is true and it does suck.

As far as other AMG models, CLK's drop in value fast as well.

Auction prices for a 05 C55 are running $39 - $45K, of course these are auction prices not dealer re-sale or dealer certified.

Thanks! I have a contact that says he will buy a car for me at auction for a $400 fee. Might be worth it if you can do any research on the car ahead of time. I would definitly want to run a CarFax or check the Dealer service records.

Another reason auction/trade prices are down, is that MB was offering huge rebates on C55's at the end of 2005, I'm not sure the exact amount but it was over $5K!!
