w203 price hit
So if I pick up a C55 now, how bad of a hit have previous AMG models taken when a new body style rolls out? I'm thinking the AMG version is 6-12 months behind the new C-class, and given MB's reliablity, you probably don't want the first year anyway. Advise?

I had the best deals for buying and selling my W210 E320, MY2001 bought brand new. I bought it at bottom price, fully loaded. That was a year before the new generation E class W211 launched. I sold it right after 3 full years. I lost ~40% (only).
Not to say a AMG, even a normal Benz, it takes at least a year after a new model launch to see the effect of 'hit' to the previous generation. For instance, the new S-class now costs 45% more than the previous model. And, many now would get a outgoing model for fully loaded options! Some people do enjoy to buy outgoing brand new cars if they were in no hurry to show off a car like a fashion.
Firstly, there will be no C63 AMG in W204, that will be a C55 5.4 litre tuned up to ~410hp. People would rather pay 40-50% less to get a good condition preowned C55 for 15% less power than the W204. ( or they would go for a CLK63 AMG)
If you buy a brand new C55 now , keep it for 3 years, you can still get half of the value if you do sell it. If you can find a preowned C55 paying 30% less, there is basically nothing to worry.

2013 C63 AMG P31, 2014 GMC Sierra (6.2)
If the S-class now costs 45% more than the previous model I wonder how much more the new W204 C AMG will in comparison to the W203 C55?? I am considering the W204 C AMG as my next vehicle but hopefully it won't get up into Audi RS4 territory for price. Anyone care to speculate??
