Car feels like a new car again due to throttle coming in early. This unit saves having to do this by keeping throttle linear all the time. Great idea..
BUT at 299 Euros Ill just reset my throttle every Saturday.
if you find them on EBAY give me a call

I tried this yesterday, and noticed a big difference. There is no way that it was placebo effect. Hopefully now the car doesn't learn it's way out of good throttle response too soon! Hopefully that unit also comes down in price soon too - I would try it.

So what is this thing? Can some one please explain to me in detail. A picture of it will be nice too. So are we talking about ordinary voltage stablizer? And may I ask where can I get one?
Thanks in advance,
Nico

very intersted to join the meet if welcomed
BTW is this the same as grounding kit used for many japanese performance cars? my friend is currently working on a series of wiring in the engine bay and ECU areas of his 06 G35, he told me its called grounding kit. if these two things are the same, then i guess this is realllyyy common in japanese performance cars, for he told me countless members on the Infinity forums use this method to gain throttle response.
he paid 200$ for all the wires, personaly i would pay that 100$ more to save the wiring job.

Hi D_Star
No, we have not met yet.
It's nice to know there are at least two other C32 owners from Vancouver.
We should definitely get together sometime.
Actually I found out today that my hairstylist is also a C32 owner.
Interesting~

add this module and your car will become undrivable lol...
this module dosnt reflash the ECU or anything, it basically ELIMINATES the "gap" or "delay" the MBs have with the Drive.By.Wire throttle bodies, they do this to achieve the "SMOOTH" acceleration....etc. It will be more like driving a BMW........ if you have ever driven one.

hi guys, haven't checked the forum for a while since I was out of town.
For this booster, try to contact the member kk249 as he has one for sale, or you guys might ask him to do the group buy since he is located in hong kong.

Guys,
I am enclosing the direct source of the spring booster. Check the Dealer's network list in their website, this may help.
Good Luck !

Hi Steve,
Sorry I don't know about your gas pedal removal - but could you tell me where you bought your sprintbooster? I want one for my C32, but there is no US dealer that I know of...

My friend happens to be the dealer for both Hong Kong and Taiwan for this thing listed on their site, so I was fortunate enough to test it out before it was launched on the market. I've had mine since Christmas 2005.
This thing really works to improve throttle response, although IMO the throttle response is still not as immediate as the old non-drive-by-wire systems, close but not quite as quick.
JoshK, there is no HP gain at all, so there's no point in spending money on a dyno. However, the quicker response naturally allows your car to reach the power band much much quicker so that smaller HP cars with the booster have a chance of (initially) beating more powerful cars without the booster from a standing start, e.g. at a red light or at 0-100, or accelerating out of a corner - that is the edge you will get with it. Not to mention the feeling of acceleration that many of us here have been looking for and find really annoying with MBs.
As for consumption, you would experience a higher consumption initially as you would be heavy footing the gas pedal, since we were used to the old setup. As you adapt to the much less pedal pressure required (you really do have to re-learn the gas pedal control...especially coming out of corners!!!!!!) AND gotten over the thrill of the new "kick-back" feeling, the consumption goes back to pretty much the way it used to be.
Sprint boosters are specific to each brand of car, but pretty much interchangeable within a brand.
Since its launch, my mech had helped Sprint refine the product. They found that the first chips were waaaay too sensitive for the more powerful engines e.g. the SLK350's and AMG's...to the extent that the slightest bumps on the road moving your foot ever so slightly, would cause the car to jerk - that is how sensitive your gas pedal has become! I have known many guys with SLK350's removing their boosters becuz their GF's just couldnt take the excessive jerking. On the otherhand, my friend with a 400HP+ C32 loves it, spinning his wheels every time he steps on it, even with the ESP on. So, its not for everyone, especially if you have an AMG... but for SLK200K's, C200K's, C/E 240, C/E280's etc. that is not such an issue...and in fact the booster is a MUST.
Also the first versions caused the check engine light on the newer MBs to light up, e.g. W164 ML350's etc.. Both these issues have now been resolved with a new version of the booster. The new toned down version is most probably more suitable for C55's. Two W211 E55's have been installed with the new version with no issues and the owners are loving it.
Anyway, beware, if you buy from a source other than the authorized dealer network, you may end up with the original version which will be very user UNfriendly to your AMGs and other higher HP cars and/or cause the check engine light to come on for 2006 and newer cars.
I spoke to my friend today and he said he would be happy to entertain a group buy or individual orders from the US. Feel free to contact him via email (use the Hong Kong one for quicker response) or contact me and I can try to get you a deal.
