I MADE THE CUT! Representing Imports @ 2006 Winged Warrior Challenge

#8 out of 60 imports

The Winged Warrior Performance Challenge 2006 will consist of the following 7 events:

AutoCourse (an autocross with both low and high speed sections)
Skidpad
Drag Race
0 - 60mph (timed on the same pass as the drag race)
Slalom
100mph - 0mph Braking
Car Show (performance cars will be scored, but their show score does not affect the performance challenge results)

Hopefully I wont let us down! They have video on their site of last years event, hundreds of people all across the country apply for this, its great to get a benz in the event!

Might not want to beat the **** out of it, is my first thought? He might plan on driving very hard. Would you rather have a chipped front-end on a C32 or an Aston Martin?

Risk of thousands of dollars of damage that could happen if something went wrong, like loosing control on the 100 to 0 test. This is actually pretty dangrous, really think about it, have you ever slammed on your brakes, at lets say 70ish on the highway? Its a gut wrenching feeling when the back starts to try and overtake the front. I have more faith in the C32 as I drive it daily and autocross it regulary, still, that test I am going to have butterflys in my stomach, yet, I can not wait to do it.

Ya I will be unique to a point, I think there might be an E55 there along with an brand new M5.

Here is Team Import so far

Here is team USA so far

Media and Pictures of last years event - HPC DIO - 2005 Winged Warrior 1 Compilation is a good vid

The point of the event is you are awared points for how well you do in each event, since it is a "Team" event; hopefully we cancel out or average better in more events then Team USA. All of the eggs are not in one basket, persay, I may be good in one area and get crushed in another. I.E. killed in drag race, but make up distance on the autocross (several folk on both teams never have autocrossed, big advantage), and stopping distance.

Also, the biggest thing about the event is there are "NO" race tires or type R compound tires allowed, this is a pure "street" tire event. Michelin Pilots, Z03's etc.. so it should level the playing field a bit.
